The official Nextcloud desktop client mirrors folders to disk. That is great for daily documents and a poor fit for a 200 GB media library or a server you only visit occasionally. DockBird gives you the other mode: browse the server live, pull down what you need, push up what you made, and leave the rest where it is.
Setup is one screen. Enter the address you use in the browser, your username, and an app password generated under Security in your Nextcloud settings. DockBird constructs the WebDAV endpoint for your account and stores the password in the macOS Keychain.
From there it is the same two-pane workflow as every other connection: sort, filter, Quick Look a photo without downloading it by hand, or drop a folder from Finder and watch the transfer panel do the rest.
How to connect
- Press ⌘N or click the plus next to Servers in the sidebar.
- Choose the Nextcloud tile.
- Fill in: Name · Nextcloud address (https://cloud.example.com) · Username · App password · Initial path.
- Click Save, then double-click the server. Approve the host key or certificate prompt if one appears.
