Requirements

macOS 15 Sequoia or later. Apple silicon or Intel. About 39 MB of disk space.

What you get

SFTP, FTP, FTPS, WebDAV, Nextcloud, Amazon S3 and eight S3-compatible presets. All of it in the free version, with no time limit.

Privacy

Sandboxed, credentials in the Keychain, and two anonymous usage signals you can switch off. Read the privacy policy; it lists them exactly.

First five minutes

  1. Add a server. Press ⌘N, pick a tile, fill in the host and credentials, and click Save. Secrets go straight to the Keychain. Click Connect instead to use a server once without saving it.
  2. Connect. Double-click the server in the sidebar. SSH servers show a host key fingerprint; approve it once.
  3. Pick what to browse. The window opens with one pane; choose a server or a local folder from it, or press ⌘O for any folder on your Mac. ⌘D splits the window so a second location, local or remote, sits beside the first.
  4. Drag. Move files between the panes, or to and from Finder. Watch the transfers bar at the bottom.
  5. Peek before you pull. Select a remote file and press Space for Quick Look.

Download questions

Is there a direct download outside the App Store?

Not yet. DockBird ships through the Mac App Store, which gives you automatic updates, Apple’s review, and a Pro unlock tied to your Apple ID so it follows you to a new Mac.

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS 15 Sequoia and later. Older systems are not supported because DockBird relies on current SwiftUI features.

Does it run on Intel Macs?

Yes. The App Store build is universal and runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel.

Is the free version time-limited?

No. It keeps working for as long as you like, with every protocol and 2 saved servers. DockBird Pro is a one-time unlock for unlimited saved servers. Your connections and Keychain entries stay in place either way; nothing is deleted.
